Cyber Crimes (Spore)

Singapore has created new agencies and given its law enforcement personnel greater powers in its fight against these crimes since 1993. A study has identified Singapore as “the most network ready country” in the world. Hey, how true is that so..?

Singapore has chosen to follow the model of the United Kingdom by enacting legislation that addresses computer crime . In Singapore's Computer Misuse Act, those who obtain unauthorized access to computer material, modify the contents of a computer, obtain or intercept any computer service or function, interfere with or obstruct the lawful use of a computer, impede or prevent access to or impair the usefulness or effectiveness of any computer program or data, or disclosing a password, access code, or other means of gaining access to a program or data would be seriously dealt with by the law.

In what other ways have Singapore fight cyber crimes...

Well, Singapore has created law enforcement agencies with trained personnels to keep pace with the rapid technology advances. The Singapore Police Force has also been given additional power, e.g. extra-territorial jurisdiction, to aid in their efforts to counter cyber crimes.

Take a look at the video below, it was produced by Spore students and in it, it talks about a few cyber crimes which we may fall for..The video is very hilarious but its good effort produced by the students.
